Matt Lagrive : “A stone too far…”
Matt Lagrive handed his timecard to the organisers yesterday evening to formally mark his retirement from the 2012 Dakar after breaking his left foot on SS4. He plans to follow the rally to Copiapo, Chile, before flying back to France.

It’s all over for Matt Lagrive
A quadruple fracture of his foot following a fall 30km from the finish of Wednesday’s stage has forced Matthieu Lagrive out of this year’s Dakar. The former Endurance World Champion bravely continued after the test to reach the overnight camp in Chilecito.

Lagrive among the condors
It was another punishing day for Matt Lagrive as the 2012 Dakar moved into the Andes Mountains. The MotoRacingLive rider dropped an hour-and-a-half in the stage trying to locate some petrol for his bike. He completed the test with the 136th fastest time.

In deepest Argentina already
The opening stage of the 2012 Dakar saw Matthieu Lagrive produce the 68th quickest time with the N°97 Yamaha/Michelin. When we caught up with him just before the competitors’ briefing at the bivouac in Santa Rosa de la Pampa, he seemed to be in tip-top form.

Matthieu Lagrive finishes Dakar preparation in Morocco
With only 10 days remaining before the start of the 2012 Dakar, Matthieu Lagrive has just completed a navigation course in Morocco. The three days taught him how to navigate using a road book, as well as off-road riding techniques, especially over dunes.
